Workshops in Dryden

$100 travel fee + workshop fee
Workshops at The Bird House art studio always offer a more immersive experience with full access to a variety of art supplies and tools. This allows for greater exploration of different techniques and mediums. In addition, the space is designed to provide plenty of room to experiment and create with personalized guidance. It is in those “a-ha” moments that the creativity unfolds, as I find a special supply from my art supply room, specifically for you to integrate into your art.
Traveling to Dryden requires packing up a variety of materials and setting up in a new space, which takes additional time and effort. The $100 fee helps cover the costs associated with transporting and setting up everything needed for the workshop. While I’m happy to come to you, the workshop may have a more limited imaginative scope. I just can’t pack up my whole studio!
I always strive to offer a fulfilling experience, but if you want the most options and room for creativity, I highly recommend attending at my studio. Not only is it a beautiful log building, it overlooks 160 acres of rolling hills, trees, and “Martin’s Mountain”: truly an inspiring view to get the artistic juices flowing! The studio rental fee is $85 plus tax for a 1 to 4 hour session, with full day rentals also available.

I am always excited to travel to your community to share an artistically educational experience with you. This requires a lot of planning and packing here at The Bird House to bring you the best workshop possible.
To help keep the workshop ticket price as affordable as possible, the accommodations, mileage, and travel fees are kept separate from the workshop cost. This allows you to pay primarily for the experience and materials, while the additional travel-related costs are handled separately. As the group booking the workshop, you can decide how these costs are paid—whether they are shared among participants or covered in another way. This approach helps me offer the most competitive pricing for the workshops themselves, without including travel expenses in the ticket price.
Please note, when you book me for an event in your community, you are responsible for booking a space, at your expense, for the workshop. Ensure that it is a space that has close access to water/sinks for cleaning brushes and changing water containers, and bathroom accessibility for workshoppers. ​​
Travel Fee Calculations
Total travel fee consists of a non-refundable deposit, a distance based fee, and fees to cover any required accommodations or meals.

Non-Refundable Deposit: $100 to be paid at time of booking
Accommodations: $100 per night. Not always required: depends on duration of workshop and time of day it runs.
Meal Fee: $23/meal based on meals required after leaving 158 Keatley Road

Cancellation Policy
I understand that plans can change, and I strive to be as accommodating as possible. However, due to the significant time, effort, and preparation required for each workshop, I have a $100 non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. This helps cover the initial costs of organizing materials, reserving accommodations, and ordering special supplies necessary for the workshop.
If you need to cancel, I kindly ask for at least 14 days' notice. This allows me to adjust my schedule and make any necessary changes. Cancellations made within 14 days will result in the full workshop fee being due, as travel arrangements, material orders, and preparation costs will already have been incurred.
I appreciate your understanding and will do my best to accommodate any changes to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.
